NL Nets Three Gold and One Silver at U13 and U14 Atlantic Championships

The NLSA GU13 add GU14 Maroon teams were perfect as they swept their divisions with matching gold medals and 5-0 records in front of a home crowd at historic King George V Pitch in St. John’s.

The U13 girls defeated PEI 6-2 on goals from Kate Reimer (2), Danica Edwards, Ireland Winters, Mylee Tapper and Millie Janes. The two PEI markers were the only goals conceded by NL goalkeepers Chloe Clark and Brooklyn Wasson all week.

The U14 girls edged Nova Scotia 1-0 to take the final thanks to a goal from Athei Achiek.  Keeper Carly Coffey had the clean sheet.

NL Sky Blue also had a competitive tournament; GU13 Sky Blue finished with a 2-2 record, while GU14 Sky Blue finished with a 1-2-1 record.

BU13 Maroon were also golden in Prince Edward Island with a convincing 4-0 win over Nova Scotia. NL goals came from Blake Lane, Jacob Percy, Matthew Earle and Jamieson Nash. The clean sheet was shared by Max Murphy and Jacob Littlejohn.

BU14 Maroon dropped a hard-fought final to Nova Scotia, taking home the silver medal. The team finished with an overall record of 2-1-1.

The BU13 and BU14 Sky Blue teams were busy in the Ottawa area, with a series of games against teams around the nation’s capital. BU13 Sky Blue finished with a 1-2 record, while BU14 finished 0-2-1.
